Filling deep cells with granular fill

• The cells allow most granular fills to be used for a gravity mass wall. The angle of repose is much improved. Calculations depend purely on the mass of the structure.
• The point of the trials was that we had to prove in practice that the wall could be filled and compacted.
• There are other benefits of containing the fill in the Hyson Cells but these remain unquantified :
  
  • no piping
  • cell walls do not breach
  • A flexible structure tolerant of some movement
  • high speed filling by machine or labour base filling by wheelbarrow
