MINE BACKFILLING WITH TAILINGS

		Hyson Cells filled with mine tailings and poker vibrated in long bands to support the stope. Good control over closure. Also acts as a blast curtain	R35	to	R100	$6	to	$17	/ m³

		Woven cloth barricades filled with tailings	R45	to	R150	$8	to	$25	/ m³
		The bulk of the backfill is contained in a & dam" behind the barrier. This region has low compressive strength and gives long dewatering times. Selected tailings used.

		Hyson Cells filled with mine tailings and poker vibrated as gravity mass structures placed at foot of tailings dams. Steep slopes accommodated.
